description

The MSBuildShellExtension crashes with VS 2012 sln-files (Version 12).
Could you add support for this Files please.

Upvote. When you try to build a VS 2012 sln you get the following error message:

"File format version is not recognized. MSBuild can only read solution files between versions 7.0 and 9.0, inclusive."

VS 2012 sln files typically use versions 10.0 or 11.0.

Hi.

Can you attach sample solution and project files that can reproduce this issue please?

Thank you.

Which version of MSBuildShellExtension are you using?

Only just stumbled across this, very handy, but I have the same problem, most of our projects are VS2012...

Did you try the 2.2.1 beta?

FlailingElbows wrote Mar 21 at 9:38 PM

I tried the 2.2.1 beta for VS 2012 sln and it doesn't work. The console window flashes then disappears.

Sorry, but I'm busy doing other stuff at the moment and I think icnocop is busy as well. Would love if someone could help with this.

Are there any relevant error messages in the windows event log?

...and VS2013. I get this same error whenever I try to perform any MSBuild action:

"File format version is not recognized. MSBuild can only read solution files between versions 7.0 and 9.0, inclusive."
